Job Description
To manage the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of goods and supplies, ensuring consistent stock levels of authentic Asian groceries, spices, fresh produce, and other inventory required by Spice Glen Ltd.
1. Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers from various Asian countries.
- Establish a strong relationship with Exporting vendors.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms of purchase.
2. Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business goals.
- Monitor market trends to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
3. Inventory Control:
- Ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
- Coordinate with store and warehouse teams for timely replenishment.
4. Cost Management:
- Manage budgets and reduce procurement costs where possible.
- Analyze spending and look for cost-saving opportunities.
5. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet quality and compliance standards.
- Handle issues related to defective or non-compliant products.
6. Order Management:
- Issue purchase orders and track deliveries.
- Ensure timely supply to avoid disruption in operations.

7. Team Supervision:
- Lead and train procurement staff.
- Allocate responsibilities and ensure smooth workflow.
8. Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Generate reports for management decision-making.
- Prepare supporting documents for the import clearance team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Knowledge of Asian/Indian grocery products preferred.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Fluency in English, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil languages.
- Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple suppliers.
